Common Name: Catalpa, Northern
Latin Name: Catalpa speciosa
Address: McIntire Park
This is a large size for a Catalpa, and when it flowers, it is dramatic. Catalpas are also known as cigar trees because of the dangling bean-like seed pods.
The catalpa is surrounded by new trees planted by CATS. The city has also invested in new plantings near the paved path that leads to the Veterans Dogwood Memorial.
