This Specimen White Oak replaced its sister white oak, which died and was left as a ‘stem,’ a tree with the crown removed, still enjoyed by wildlife. CATS designated this healthy oak as a Landmark Tree on Arbor Day, 2017. It is unfortunate that the oak developed a large crack and had to be removed from the park for safety reasons.
